One of the water features in the ornate Japanese Gardens

The Japanese Garden is one of my favourite places within Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. With plenty of seating it is an ideal spot to stop for a picnic. The highly manicured gardens provide an oasis of calm and order – a wonderful contrast to our usually stressful and chaotic lives.

The Japanese Gardens

The rainforest walk is another beautiful area within the botanic gardens. If you have small children with you be sure to pick up a Discovery Trail Map at the entrance and follow the signs to discover all the hidden treasures. Be on the lookout for stingless native bees and violin playing fruit bats!

With kilometers of paths to choose from, you can easily tailor make your own Mt Coot-tha Botanic Garden experience. Enjoy!
