Minnippi Parklands is a welcome spot for a relaxing stroll. While not technically a bushwalk, the Parklands are a welcome nature escape for the surrounding suburbs of Tingalpa and Carindale. A wider than average footpath, that is suitable for all abilities, circles Minnippi Lake. A viewing platform overhanging the lake is an ideal vantage point to watch the various duck and bird species.

The parklands are part of the Bulimba Creek Bikeway and are an access point to the Bulimba Creek Canoeing precinct. I had the opportunity to experience Minnippi Parklands one Saturday morning when I participated in Minnippi parkrun. Even after a week of rain the paths withstood the pounding of 230 keen runners. I mustn’t have been running fast enough because mosquitoes still managed to have a piece of me. So insect repellent is advisable.
Minnippi Parklands aren’t a big event, but nor are they to be ignored. A great place for family fun!
